Where and How to Watch Anime in Spanish

I don’t know about you, but I’ve often found that anime has the same high-quality storytelling, if not better, than most well-known films and TV shows. Sadly, almost all of them are available only in either English or Japanese.

And as a Latino, that made me think, hey, why should my people miss out on this?

So, I snooped around and luckily have been able to find some platforms that offer anime in Spanish. I’m about to dive into them, and even recommend some great anime you might want to start with.

Clear your schedule, grab your snacks, and get ready for a great time!

3 Top Platforms to Watch Anime in Spanish

The platforms I’m about to share have a decent collection of Spanish anime and don’t cost a lot either. The only catch is that they’re online, so you’ll need a fast and reliable internet connection.

If you’re currently searching for one, I’d suggest looking into Spectrum. Their plans offer speeds of up to 2 Gbps, which is great for streaming at up to 8K quality. I found it both fast and reliable, plus their bilingual assistance allows Spanish speakers to reach out to número de teléfono de Spectrum.

Now let’s explore the platforms.

YouTube

Yes, YouTube! It doesn’t get any simpler than this. The social media giant has a ton of channels featuring some of the best anime known to mankind, all translated into Spanish. You can find full-length episodes, curated playlists, and even fresh releases on these channels.

Something you want to watch out for is to use verified check-marked channels, since this signals authenticity, credibility, and trust, and ensures you watch legitimate high-quality content.

Oh, and fair warning, if you’re not using YouTube Premium, you might have to skip those annoying ads over and over.

Netflix

Ah, yes, how could we have a list about streaming without the streaming giant itself?

The platform has a literal ocean of content, including anime with Spanish subtitles or translations. Its user-friendly interface allows you to find this content by using language-based filters or trying your luck in the search bar.

The best part is that there are no ads, unlike YouTube.

One of the problems with this platform is that the content may vary in terms of availability based on location. However, a Virtual Private Network (VPN) might sort that out for you. I recommend using a paid VPN, since it offers better speeds and reliability.

Crunchyroll

Time to move on to the dedicated specialists!

Crunchyroll is a dedicated anime platform where you can access many, and I mean many, of the most popular titles in plain or Latin American Spanish. Like Netflix, you can find your favorite titles easily with its language filters or search bar.

While you have a free option, you might have to watch ads, unless you use the premium plan that starts at $8 a month.

Unfortunately, the content on Crunchyroll also varies from region to region, and if you’re outside America, this may lead to missing out on some golden titles, unless you’re using a VPN. Now that you know where you can catch Spanish-dubbed anime, let’s dive a bit into what you might want to catch.

3 Must-Watch Spanish-Subbed Anime

As a Latino, I’ve handpicked a few shows that come close to reflecting our values, such as family, friendship, community, loyalty, and hope, to name a few. Considering these factors, take a look at some of the anime you might want to start watching right away.

One Piece

This is a story about a group of Pirates looking to find a treasure known as One Piece and become the Kings of Pirates. Their journey is an engaging tale of friendship, loyalty, and working together to overcome all odds, which I’m sure Hispanic families can relate to.

Dragon Ball Z

Time to go Super Saiyan! This anime continues on its predecessor, Dragon Ball, by taking you along on adult Goku’s journey to protect the Earth from aliens and magical creatures. It is a tale that reflects the Latino values of family, loyalty, hard work, and resilience.

Naruto

As a Latino in America, I know you’ll relate greatly to this one, as we’re also judged simply for being who we are. The show is about a character called Naruto, a villager who dreams of becoming a ninja. The only problem? He’s been rejected by his village since he has a powerful demon fox inside him. The show details his journey of training, perseverance, the friends he makes along the way, and his eventual triumph.

Anime – Quality Storytelling That Hispanics Can Relate To

There’s a reason anime has become so popular in Hispanic countries and beyond. It’s because it is a perfect mix of creativity, fiction, and reality.

The ability to display real-life values and challenges, while breaking the barriers of creativity in storytelling, continues to grow the popularity of anime.

The platforms I’ve shared above can make sure you enjoy this high-quality storytelling with a cultural touch. You might want to start with the titles I’ve shared, but don’t let them be the end of it, because there are a lot of stories out there featuring elements that we Latinos can relate to.
